Description: A workshop was organized at Somerville School, Greater Noida for the Pre-Primary and Primary teachers on 28th January 2020 with Ms.Shalini Tayal as the resource person. The aim was to create an extraordinary effective management as teachers and to incorporate team building. The resource person highlighted that great teachers possess a combination of leadership qualities respected by the students, parents, peers and the community. Mentors must work with parents to resolve the challenges a student may face in learning and what approach might work best with each one as an individual. Teachers need to be dedicated for providing each student with the best possible environment and tools for learning. Within the school, the best way to be successful is to work with others to create quality teaching environment which will eventually result in better learning outcomes, increased efficiency, better ideas, increased competency and a sense of accomplishment. Various methods to achieve an effective team management without favouritism or credits were also discussed during the interactive session. Ms.Tayal also laid stress on effective communication, maintaining discipline and learning to manage conflicts without criticizing any child. It was an enriching experience for all the teachers wherein they realized that great teachers are great leaders who are passionate about teaching and learning-regularly sharpening their axe.
