Indeed music is a way to worship the Lord. Fantasia 2019-20 was held on 11th February 2020 to showcase the musical talent of the students of Somerville School, Greater NOIDA and their incredible achievements in various competitions. The melodious presentation given by the students created vibrant and positive aura in the school.
No auspicious event can take place without the loving grace of the Almighty, the event started with a prayer to the Almighty to thank Him to and shower His blessings upon us continuously.
We were graced by the presence of Mrs. Mary George, President of Lott Carey Baptist Mission in India.
We were also humbled by the presence of Mr. Thomas T. Roy, Superintendent, Secretary / Treasurer of Lott Carey Baptist Mission in India, we were equally privileged to have Mrs. D A Tressler, Chairperson and Director, Somerville Schools. The unconditional guidance of our dear Principal, Dr. Mary Thomas infused in everyone the enthusiasm to excel in each performance.
The presentation commenced with a duet performance by Ruth Nanda and Gauri Mohan, followed by a quartet sung by Gauri Mohan, Mayank Khandelwal, Shreya Ruth Nanda and Austin John.
The Western Music Choir performed ‘Joshua fought the Battle of Jericho’ and the Indian Music Choir performed a song titled ‘Har Subhah Hai Nayi’.
These songs displayed a perfect blend of melody and harmony. The tenacious students of classes I to V presented ‘Clap and Tap’ dance. The presentation was enjoyed by everyone present. The parents were overjoyed to see their wards perform cheerfully in perfect coordination.
The dance performance was followed by melodious solo performances by Zoya Prasad, Aditi Pandey, Gargi Shekhawat, Mallishka Singh, Myesha Maryam, Yash Rawal, Shreya Ruth Nanda and Gauri Mohan.
The perfect coordination and synchronization of instruments played by the Indian Music Choir created a breathtaking harmony. The parents were elated and mesmerized to see their wards performing with confident flair on stage. They were proud of their wards performances. It was an overwhelming experience for them to be a part of an event and watch their wards perform.
The event was concluded by a token of gratitude presented by Gauri Mohan of class XII A on behalf of the Western Music Choir to the Members of the Management, Principal of the school and to the teachers for their effort in honing, nurturing and mentoring their innate talents.
