School History

The Greater NOIDA Branch of Somerville School was established on 2nd July 1998 by the Lott Carey Baptist Mission in India, to fulfill the long cherished dream of Dr. W. C. Somerville, to spread education in the country. The school is administered by The Lott Carey Baptist Mission in India. It is an unaided Christian Minority School affiliated to the CBSE Board under the 10+2 scheme. The medium of instruction is English.

The foundation stone for the school was laid on 12th January 1995 by Mr. Ravi Mathur I.A.S. Chairman of Greater NOIDA Industrial Development Authority.

We have the distinction of being the first public school of repute in the area - a fact which was recognized by the Greater NOIDA Authority on its Founder’s Day.

The school began with a strength of 89 students and a staff comprising of a Headmistress, 3 Teachers and Assistant Administrative Officer, a Receptionist, a Technician, a Nurse and 9 Support Staff.

A special assembly was organized to mark the first day of School. Mr. Thomas T. Roy ( Secretary/Treasurer of Lott Carey Baptist Mission in India), Rev. Wilson Mark and Mrs. D. A. Tressler (Principal) participated in this assembly.
