Description: Janmashtami marks the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu. This festival was celebrated with great joy and excitement by the children of the primary school at Somerville School, Greater Noida on the 31st August 2018.A special assembly was conducted to mark the birth of the deity. Students from classes I to V participated to celebrate and usher in the festive feeling. Students enacted a skit, illustrating the fact that whenever there will be dominance of evil, Lord Krishna, will reincarnate to destroy the evil and save the good. Children dressed as Radha and Krishna presented a colourful and mesmerizing dance to a beautiful semi-classical music. Students of classes IV and V presented Dandiya dance to the melodious music of devotional songs. Children celebrated the occasion by singing and dancing with great joy and enthusiasm. The enactment conveyed a strong message of victory of good over evil. The hard work of the teachers and the students was well applauded by our Principal, Dr. Mary Thomas.
