Description: Somerville School, Greater NOIDA organized its Annual Sports Meet, with great zeal and excitement. The guests of honour for the day were Mrs. Mary George, President, Lott Carey Baptist Mission in India, Mr. Thomas T Roy, Superintendent and Secretary/Treasurer, Lott Carey Baptist Mission in India and Mrs. D.A Tressler, Chairperson and Director, Lott Carey Baptist Mission in India. The event began with a prayer to invoke the blessings of the Almighty. This was followed by the Inter-House March Past of the four Houses where the students displayed their fine marching skills and exemplary discipline. Thereafter the students displayed a wide array of colourful and reverberant presentations. The displays included-‘Get Ready to Wriggle’ by the students of Nursery, ‘Hoola Hoop Drill’ by Class V, ‘Kazachok Dance’ by Class VI, ’Sha la la’ Dance by the tiny tots of K.G, ’Shimmer and Shine by Class II and Tip Tap Toe by Class III. The Best Drill Display was bagged by Class VII for their ‘ Precision Drill’. Each drill exemplified the hard work put in by the students and the teachers. The displays made way for the exciting athletic events which included relays, sack race, obstacle race and flat races .The day ended with encouraging words by our Principal Dr. Mary Thomas.
